“Normandy partners” tried to pin another accusation on the Russian Federation
Germany and France, without waiting for the results of the investigation, hastened to declare Russia’s involvement in the OSCE drone that disappeared over the DPR.
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this today during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The statement of Germany and France dated November 1 in connection with the disappearance of a long-range drone belonging to the OSCE on October 27 in the conflict zone in eastern Ukraine, we are talking about the village of Nizhnekrynskoye (DPR), is puzzling. With reference to the mission data, the statement categorically points to “the responsibility for the incident of Russia and the separatists it supports.” The authors of the statement made their accusations without any basis and, of course, without waiting for the results of the investigation,” Zakharova said.
According to her, the OSCE mission has already come into contact with representatives of the DPR, who promised to provide any assistance. Also, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recalled that back on October 22, the LDPR asked the monitoring mission to notify in advance about the flight paths of their UAVs, and also to equip them with flashing lights, since recently the attack drones of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been increasingly used by Kiev as combat aircraft against civilian targets in Donbass.
At the same time, Zakharova noted that during the OSCE’s work in Donbass since 2014, the monitoring mission has lost 9 drones, 5 of which were in the territory controlled by Ukraine.
“However, our partners in the Normandy format, in their best traditions, chose not to notice these cases. We call on Germany and France to henceforth refrain from making accusations with anti-Russian overtones until a thorough investigation is carried out in the conflict zone,” Zakharova concluded.
