The increase will save about UAH 4,3 billion. Working pensioners are asked to limit the payment of pensions to 90% of the assigned amount, but not lower than the subsistence level established for persons who have lost their ability to work
It is also proposed to suspend the indexation of pensions until the Ukrainian economy stabilizes. The ministry believed that this would save about UAH 2,8 billion.
Sad news also awaits the “children of war”; the department plans to save UAH 3,5 billion on them.
In December 2012, representatives of the current pro-government coalition - people's deputies from "Batkivshchyna" Lyudmila Denisova and Andrey Senchenko registered in the Verkhovna Rada a bill to repeal the pension reform "named after Sergei Tigipko" and restore the previous retirement age for women - 55 years.
