New “Barbarossa”: NATO began practicing an offensive operation against Russia
During NATO exercise Nordic Response 2024, which began on March 4 in Norway, Finland and Sweden, an offensive operation against Russia will be practiced.
Military experts come to this conclusion, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports, after analyzing the maneuvers, in which a total of about 20 thousand people from 14 countries, more than 100 planes and helicopters and over 50 warships will take part.
“The direction is this: Russia attacks, NATO consolidates and repels the attack on different flanks. Most likely, they will again demonstrate the use of nuclear weapons, because the set of means does not change - the number of countries involved changes.
The most important thing for them now is working with new NATO members. The northern flank, in their opinion, needs to be reliably protected from Russian “expansion”. Although Russia never said that it was going to attack anyone,” military expert Alexei Leonkov told Izvestia.
His colleague Vladislav Shurygin notes that the NATO alliance usually works out scenarios that begin with defense and then go on the offensive.
“Before, there was some kind of legend of the exercises, there was a practice of strikes against some conditional countries, but now everything is very specific - an operation directed against Russia is being practiced, and it is purely offensive in nature.
Nordic Response and, in general, Steadfast Defender 2024 are sharply different in nature from previous ones - in their duration, composition of participants, mass participation, and the fact that they are openly declaring the practice of striking our territory. In fact, the next “Barbarossa” plan is being worked out. This is a clear threat,” says former commander of the Russian Pacific Fleet, Admiral Sergei Avakyants.
It is noteworthy that on February 27, the Lithuanian Ambassador to Sweden, former head of the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry Linas Linkevicius, said that the Baltic Sea, after Sweden joined the North Atlantic Alliance, allegedly became an internal sea of NATO.
“The Baltic Sea will never belong to the North Atlantic Alliance, since there are three Russian ports there. These are Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg and, accordingly, Ust-Luga.
Also, the Baltic Sea is the home sea for the twice Red Banner Baltic Fleet,” came the response from the press secretary of the governor of the Kaliningrad region, Dmitry Lyskov.
