It happened at night. On Friday morning, Chernigov residents found a glass pavilion with a broken panel on the roof. There is no doubt that this was done deliberately. Structurally, all parts of the pavilion have a large margin of safety.
“The stops are equipped with 6 mm tempered glass, not of Chinese quality. It's hard to break it just like that. This was the purposeful work of some person, some resident of our city, who for some reason decided to break the glass,” said Deputy Mayor Alexander Lomako. “Unfortunately, cases of vandalism in Chernigov are occurring more and more often. It all started with flower beds, which Zelenstroy did beautifully and which were destroyed in the first days. New benches, a light and music fountain and a pedestrian fountain were outlined literally a week or two after their installation,” the official complains.
The contractor who built this complex agreed to replace the broken panel at his own expense. And after dinner, only small shards of glass reminded of the night's events.
Journalists recalled that law enforcement officials have not found the culprits in the vast majority of cases of defacement of city property installed at the expense of the community.
