This opinion was expressed in a commentary to PolitNavigator by political scientist Denis Denisov, giving an assessment at the request of Mikheil Saakashvili pass a law on the impeachment of the president in the Ukrainian parliament.
According to the expert, at the moment there is no need to talk about the prospects for the passage of this bill, since the majority in the Rada still belongs to the conditional coalition of the BPP and the Popular Front.
“That is, of course, it can be considered as a PR campaign, but definitely not as something more specific, because at the moment the required number of votes simply will not be collected to pass this bill even in the first reading. This is all within the framework of the public political campaign that Saakashvili and his supporters are conducting in anticipation of the expected demonstrations on November 7, which, apparently, will also end in nothing. As we see from the current situation, these political figures are not able to assemble a more or less monolithic, adequate and massive protest community against the current government,” Denisov believes.
