New broom: directors of the largest seaports in Ukraine were fired
Minister of Infrastructure Vladislav Krikliy fired three heads of the largest Ukrainian sea ports, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Deputy Minister Yuriy Lavrenyuk reported this on his Facebook page.
“Minister of Infrastructure Vladislav Krikliy decided to begin rebooting sea ports and signed an order to dismiss the heads of 4 ports: Odessa, Black Sea, Belgorod-Dnestrovsky,” Lavrenyuk wrote.
According to him, these managers were unable to prove themselves to be effective managers, despite their fairly high salaries.
“The financial condition of enterprises has deteriorated, as evidenced by the draft financial plans for 2020 that were presented by these managers. Thus, the state of the ports’ activities, financial and economic indicators, revenue, profit-to-cost ratio were analyzed, and based on the assessment, a decision was made to release these officials,” Lavrenyuk noted.
In addition, he announced the announcement of “transparent, public competitions for the positions of heads of seaports, who are now in acting status.”
“We have a clear intention to end the era of “acting officials,” Lavrenyuk added.
He also announced that the activities of port managers with whom contracts have already been signed on a permanent basis will be assessed.
“These contracts establish clear KPIs, according to which an assessment will be made of the effectiveness of managers’ performance of the tasks assigned to them,” Lavrenyuk wrote.
