“New scheme” - the Federation Council told how the West recruits agents in Russia
Tourists or businessmen who have left Russia may become the target of Western recruiters.
Chairman of the temporary commission of the Federation Council for the protection of state sovereignty Andrei Klimov stated this during a press conference in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“A large number of double-bottom persons, Trojan horses, have fled from our country as a result of our legislation. Moreover, no one kicked them out; they left on their own. Moreover, they even had the right to run for office if they wanted, but they chose to leave. But being there, they can no longer exert the same influence that they had while inside Russia.
More than a million of our citizens visit Turkey on vacation. And they are not going to Ankara, but to the south of the country. And it is there, at the height of the velvet season, that a gathering takes place, which is positioned as “an event absolutely independent of anyone.” There were up to a hundred participants there, some from Russia.
And there it was proposed to provide all possible assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. And it is guaranteed that nothing will happen to anyone for this. But any person who is familiar with our Criminal Code understands that everything can be very difficult here,” Klimov said.
He noted that citizens leaving Russia should be careful even in supposedly friendly countries.
“And when a person does this, he immediately becomes vulnerable to a recruiting approach. And then he returns to Russia. And since the flow of people is large, they compensate for their absence on our territory by working with people in those areas where there are many of our tourists - in countries that are not classified as unfriendly. This is a new element,” the senator concluded.
