New Tavrida highway in Crimea: What you need to know in advance
Drivers should be aware of the nuances of the first stage of the Tavrida highway, which opened on the eve of the New Year in Crimea, connecting Simferopol and Kerch. A resident of Sevastopol, Oleg Kravchuk, who drove along the new road, reported this in the “Automotive Crimea” community.
“On the downside:
– there are no clear signs, gas stations, tire shops, shops and bushes along the road – not at all!
– there are no populated areas, so finding, for example, a first-aid post will not be easy;
- only one lane is open in each direction now - a line of trucks will come along, and everything will be lost.
Pros:
– from sign to sign on the speedometer it was 270 km (minus 30);
– the road surface is mostly ideal;
– we got from sign to sign in 3 hours and 25 minutes! But here the effect of January 1 was more at work - we didn’t meet a single truck along the entire road;
– two more parallel lanes are already ready along almost the entire length, so the opening of a wider road seems to be close;
“It’s much less stressful to drive than along the hills of Old Crimea and along the coast,” said Kravchuk.
Thank you!
