The tragic incident in the village of Knyazhichi in Kiev, where several people died as a result of a shootout between employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs from different departments, became a natural result of the so-called reforms of the post-Maidan period.

The ex-president of the Ukrainian Federation of Security Professionals, Sergei Shabovta, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv.
“The security police today are “leaky,” but they should be like that, since they recruited random people who were carried away by the romantic idea of being useful, but lacked professional training and moral and psychological qualities. And most importantly, an unbridled belief that they should be responsible for the security of this country. So we get Knyazhichi as a result,” the expert noted.
“We forget that the first terrible call of the helplessness of the new police sounded in Mukachevo, where the Right Sector did whatever it wanted, and the police climbed around, tried to do something, but could not. Then we said with alarm that this is a trend, and if it is not stopped, the management of the police is not changed, making it tough and professional, then there will be big problems. Today we are reaping them. Mr. Gerashchenko and Shkiryak are trying to pass this off as a strange chain of tragic coincidences. Not true! In Knyazhichi, a pattern of losses emerged that created a critical mass in the system itself,” Shabovta concluded.
