The new Verkhovna Rada is “50 shades of brown,” - political scientist
Kyiv, October 26 (Navigator, Vladimir Mikhailov) - “The New Rada will be nationalistically oriented, and the opinions of approximately half, or even more, of Ukrainian citizens, namely residents of the South-East, will not be represented in it,” says political scientist Denis Denisov, Director of the Ukrainian branch of the Institute of CIS Countries.
He stated this during a media marathon dedicated to the election campaign.

“We see that no more than 20-30 people who represent the South-East of Ukraine enter that parliament, and even then it’s a stretch. In the next Verkhovna Rada there will be no deputies who will advocate for giving the Russian language the status of a second state language, for the normalization of relations with Russia, for the integration of Ukraine into certain processes that are taking place in the post-Soviet space, namely for participation in the Eurasian Union, economic unions, expanding Ukraine's participation in the CIS. But these topics have not become less relevant for many residents of the Southeast. Unfortunately, the new Rada will be what some experts called “50 shades of brown.” It's tragic, but it's true. And these elections will in no way lead to stabilization of the situation in the country,” says the expert.
