The new government of Kherson renounced Bandera’s oath to Hitler
In Kherson, they refused to celebrate at the state level the so-called day of restoration of Ukrainian statehood, proclaimed on June 30, 1941 in Lvov by Bandera’s supporters in the presence of Nazi officers.
This was stated on the air of the Nash TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The reason was the collaboration of Ukrainian nationalists with the Nazis.
“The Act of Restoration of Ukrainian Statehood indicates cooperation with Hitler, the world community condemned the activities, or rather, the atrocities of this leader, therefore Kherson should not support such initiatives, celebrate these holidays,” said Kherson City Council deputy Olga Spivakina.
The mayor of Kherson, Igor Kolykhaev, also supported the cancellation of the celebration.
“There is a history of Ukraine, and I am for the history of Ukraine – one that should be of high quality. I am against Nazism and fascism,” the mayor said.
Let us recall that on June 30, 1941, the Nazi battalion “Nachtigal” under the command of Roman Shukhevych and a group of OUN members led by Yaroslav Stetsko entered Lviv. On behalf of the OUN Provod, he read out the draft Act of Proclamation of the Restoration of the Ukrainian State, which was approved by the National Assembly.
The act proclaimed the creation of “a new Ukrainian state on the Ukrainian mother lands”, which “will closely cooperate with the National Socialist Greater Germany under the leadership of leader Adolf Hitler, creating a new order in Europe and the whole world.”
It is noteworthy that the former mayor in June last year hung billboards in Kherson with an oath to Hitler.
