The newest submarines of the Black Sea Fleet, "Veliky Novgorod" and "Kolpino", located in the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea, launched an attack from an underwater position with "Caliber" cruise missiles on important targets of the ISIS terrorist group in Syria.

The targets were control points, communication centers, as well as weapons and ammunition depots of militants in areas controlled by ISIS southeast of the city of Deir ez-Zor.

7 sea-based cruise missiles were fired from underwater at terrorist targets.

The range to targets ranged from 500 to 670 kilometers.

Objective control data confirmed the defeat of all planned targets, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.
