The newest ship of the Black Sea Fleet strikes ISIS terrorists
On the morning of September 5, 2017, the newest frigate “Admiral Essen” of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in the Mediterranean launched sea-based cruise missiles “Caliber” at targets of the ISIS terrorist group in the area of the village of Deir Ez-Zor.

“The strike was carried out on a fortified area in the vicinity of the city of Ash-Shol, which was held by a gang, the basis of which were militants from Russia and the CIS countries.
As a result of the missile strike, control posts and a communications center, warehouses with weapons and ammunition, as well as a plant for repairing terrorist armored vehicles and a large gathering of militants were destroyed.
The effectiveness of the missile strike was confirmed by reconnaissance aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles.
The launches of Caliber cruise missiles ensured the success of the advance of Syrian government troops, and also contributed to the disruption of the plans of ISIS militants to regroup forces,” the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense reports.
The day before, as a result of the actions of units of the Syrian government forces with the support of Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft in the east of Hama province, the city of Akerbat was completely liberated from ISIS militants.
