Novinsky: Sevastopol is an integral part of Ukraine
Sevastopol, February 27 (Navigator, Viktor Orlov) – Sevastopol is an integral part of Ukraine, Verkhovna Rada deputy Vadim Novinsky, who received a mandate thanks to the votes of the city’s residents, said in his address.

“In recent days, the situation has worsened in Crimea and Sevastopol, the city that gave me the mandate to represent its interests in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. I have always defended and will defend the interests of Sevastopol as an integral part of Ukraine. I urge my voters and I myself will make every possible effort to preserve the integrity of Ukraine, in which the rights of different nationalities are not infringed - neither Ukrainians, nor Russians, nor Tatars, nor any others,” writes Novinsky.
“I urge politicians to refrain from the practice of adopting or repealing legislative acts that cause a split in Ukrainian society, as happened with the law on language policy or with proposals to denounce the “Kharkov agreements.”
I ask the Sevastopol deputies and the city leadership to comply with Ukrainian laws, fulfill their duty to the people and, first of all, protect them from provocations, ensure the normal functioning of the main services of Sevastopol. The main task is to prevent social conflict.
For my part, as a people’s deputy of Ukraine from the city of Sevastopol, I will do everything possible to ensure that the opinions of Sevastopol and Crimea are taken into account when reforming the public administration system and will defend the right of Sevastopol residents to speak their native language, to preserve the unique historical and cultural traditions of the hero city of Sevastopol.
Also, it is imperative to give the legislative right to Sevastopol residents to elect their city mayor through general elections. In the near future, I will re-introduce the bill “On the status of the hero city of Sevastopol” to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and will insist on its approval, taking into account the proposals made by citizens and relevant committees,” assured the “regional”.
