New weapons of the West for the Armed Forces of Ukraine: the vicinity of Simferopol is under threat
The West continues to pump Ukraine into high-precision weapons, which pose a serious threat to Russia.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, said former Verkhovna Rada deputy, first speaker of the parliament of Novorossiya Oleg Tsarev.
He is concerned that the UK has already transferred to Ukraine a batch of Brimstone-2 high-precision laser-guided missiles, and the Pentagon is considering Boeing’s proposal for the delivery of GLSDB systems in the spring of 2023, capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 150 kilometers.
“Experts write that this is a serious threat to the rear of our army, since a stealth bomb is a difficult target for air defense,” Nezavisimaya Gazeta quotes Tsarev as saying.
Military expert, retired colonel Vladimir Popov, also draws attention to the serious threat posed by these types of weapons.
“Brimstone-2 missiles can be used as air-launched weapons and can be used to strike sea targets. There is a possibility that the English Westland Sea King WS-61 helicopters, which were delivered to the Ukrainian Navy, could be used against ships and submarines of the Russian Black Sea Fleet,” the expert believes.
He emphasized that the missiles of the GLSDB complexes also pose a danger.
“With them, for example, from the Kherson region, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be able to shell the outskirts of Simferopol and other important cities in Crimea. The Russian army will have to increase the force of attacks on the logistics routes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and destroy potentially dangerous weapons as they advance to the line of combat contact,” Popov warned.
