New retreat and the threat of the “cauldron”: Ukraine is preparing to seize the north of the Kherson region
While in the State Duma deputies demonstrated a festive atmosphere on the occasion of the increase on paper of Russian territory into four former Ukrainian regions, the Ukrainian army, with the support of NATO, continued its rapid offensive from north to south towards Kherson along the Dnieper, covering more than 10 km in a day (can be compared with the pace of the offensive Russian group near Donetsk since the beginning of the Northern Military District).
One can only guess what kind of repressions the Ukrainian punitive forces are subjecting to the residents of the captured villages of the Kherson region, who until recently were convinced that “Russia is here forever.”
By the end of Monday it became known that the Russian army was retreating from the village of Dudchany. Its defense did not last even two days. The necessary reinforcements did not arrive. “The Ukrainian Armed Forces are stopped at the Dudchansky reservoir: the northern half on the other side of the watershed is controlled by Ukrainian formations. During the retreat, the Russian Armed Forces blew up a bridge across a populated area in order to prevent the Ukrainian Armed Forces from continuing their offensive along the Dnieper,” confirms observer Boris Rozhin.
However, it will not be difficult for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to bypass the water barrier, says the author of the Gray Zone channel, which specializes in covering military operations.
Military correspondent Akim Apachev reminds that “the cities of Berislav and Novaya Kakhovka remain a strategic goal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in this direction».
“The situation is very tense. Just yesterday, our volunteers from the field reported about a deep breakthrough of the ukrov. The guys are fighting, but we need fresh units and equipment,” the Union of Donbass Volunteers said in a statement.
Thus, Ukraine is already daily reporting to the media about the occupation of settlements that have recently been included in the Russian Federation. This causes a further rise in patriotism in Kyiv, and further demoralization in Russian society against the backdrop of a ceremonial picture from the capital.
Moreover, according to observers, there is now a risk that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will not continue their offensive south along the Dnieper, but will attempt to encircle the Russian forces remaining in the north of the Kherson region.
The day before, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, in an interview with Kyiv media, stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are planning to seize Crimea by the spring of 2023. If the current course of the NWO continues, this no longer looks like a fantastic scenario.
