Attacks on members of national minorities, in particular Roma, have become so regular in Ukraine that even Kyiv's Western partners have begun to pay attention to these incidents.

About it write “Izvestia”, noting that, for example, the US Embassy, approximately 2,5 weeks after the Roma pogrom carried out by militants of the Ukrainian neo-Nazi group C14, called not to delay the investigation.

Almost a month and a half after the first criticism, the newspaper continues, a second one followed from the United States, when it turned out that the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine was actually funding C14 to promote “national projects of patriotic education” in the country.

“Government institutions at all levels must stop collaborating with far-right groups. In addition to questionable funding from the Youth Ministry, C14 and the Kiev City Council recently signed an agreement allowing C14 to create a "municipal guard" to patrol the streets. This must end, and officials found to be collaborating with extremists must be fired,” Josh Cohen, an expert at the Atlantic Council, a think tank that maintains and promotes the NATO ideology, is quoted in the publication as saying.

At the same time, the newspaper writes, there is a clear understanding within Ukraine that it will be very problematic to take control of right-wing radical groups.

“Especially in the current conditions, when all the major political forces in the country have at their disposal several thousand fighters who ensure “order” at events and in themselves are a formidable and impressive instrument of political struggle. But as practice shows, it is becoming more and more difficult to control all these paramilitary structures every year, and the Roma pogroms are clear evidence that a new generation of neo-Nazis is already on the way. And they will clearly be “soberer” and “angrier” than their predecessors,” the publication warns.
