New crime of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: the DPR is on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe
The morning shelling of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from mortars in the vicinity of Gorlovka damaged the water pipeline, resulting in a colossal leak of drinking water.
This was reported by the Telegram channel of the DPR Representative Office in the JCCC, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“This morning, Ukrainian armed forces launched a mortar attack on the village of mine 6/7 in the village of Gorlovka, as a result of which sections of the 2300 mm water pipeline were damaged. and length 2100 mm. from the pumping station of the 3rd lift of the Seversky Donets - Donbass canal.
As a result of these damages, a colossal leak of drinking water occurs - 65 m³ per hour. At the moment, the pumping station of the 000rd lift has been stopped, water supply to part of the territory of the Republic is carried out through reserve lines of the Verkhnekalmius reservoir in the amount of 3 m³, water supply has been reduced by more than 15%,” the message says.
It is noted that due to the specific configuration of the Seversky Donets-Donbass canal, an accident in the area of the station of the 3rd lift of the canal is the most dangerous for the water supply of the DPR.
“The DPR representative in the JCCC and in the negotiation process urgently requested security guarantees to eliminate this impulse. In the near future, the Donetsk filtration station will be stopped, and water supply will be reduced throughout the republic. The resumption of the work of the DFS will be possible after the restoration of the damaged water pipeline,” the department added.
