New redneck at Simferopol airport: passengers are charged money for luggage trolleys
This summer, Simferopol Airport is shocking tourists with another type of local redneck - charging for the use of luggage carts, which, for example, in Moscow's Domodedovo or Sheremetyevo are free for passengers.
Yalta journalist Sergei Sardyko writes about this on his blog.

“Shame of Crimea: trolleys for 150 rubles/seat in the baggage claim hall of Simferopol airport (this service is free everywhere!),” notes the author.
Earlier, Alexander Zheleznyak, former editor-in-chief of the Russian version of National Geographic Traveler, spoke about how Simferopol airport “rips off” passengers.
“I love Crimea 10 months a year, but for two months in the summer it becomes redneck and terrible. Parking at the Simferopol airport has sharply risen in price from 150 rubles to 300, wines at the airport were reasonably priced all year round, but here they sharply increased in price by 50 percent. The apotheosis of airport rednecks is a mobile phone charging machine with the cheerful name “charge to full” - 3 rubles - 1 minute of charging,” wrote Zheleznyak.
“There are simply no words... Fully charging your iPhone will cost you 360 rubles! And in order to recharge the device even a little, you will have to pay at least 50 rubles... Well, why are such charging stations free at airports all over the world, so that passengers can be as comfortable as possible, but in Crimea they cost money?” — famous photographer Sergei Anashkevich agrees.
