Ukrainians will have to endure the new head of the National Police for five years
Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov signed a service contract for a period of five years with the head of the National Police Sergei Knyazev.

The contract was signed in accordance with Art. 63 of the Law of Ukraine “On the National Police”.
“Such an innovation in legislation significantly strengthens the position of the police chief as a practical structure, guarantees protection, reduces pressure and dependence on the political situation in the country,” reports the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
In accordance with the contract, Sergei Knyazev is appointed to the position for a period of five years and voluntarily assumes the responsibilities of serving in the police.
Let us remind you that Sergei Knyazev was appointed head of the National Police on February 8 following the results of a consultative competition.
He is a police general of the third rank, born in 1971, he is 45 years old. He began his career in the internal affairs bodies in 1992 as a police officer in the security department in Bila Tserkva. In 1995, he joined the criminal unit of the Belotserkovsky city police department. Since 2008, Knyazev has led the police of the Kyiv region. In November 2014, he was appointed to the position of acting deputy head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Donetsk region - head of the criminal police. In July 2015, Knyazev moved to the post of head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Transcarpathian region. The appointment occurred after the armed conflict in Mukachevo.
In April 2016, Knyazev was transferred to the post of head of the Rivne region police with the task of bringing order to the illegal mining of amber. In November 2016, Knyazev was appointed head of the Criminal Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine.
