The newly minted Kyiv police officers turned out to be another soap bubble of the Maidan activists
The new patrol policemen in Ukraine, which the authorities boast of, will take bribes, just like the “old” police. Kirill Kulikov, the former head of Interpol in Ukraine, stated this on TV channel 112.
According to him, apart from a relatively increased salary, nothing fundamentally new has been done in the reform of the capital’s police. Kulikov is confident that in order to eradicate corruption in the ranks of law enforcement officers, we also need social housing for their families, which the police would value.

“Visiting people make this system for us, show us how good it will be. But the American grant will end, and so will the Japanese Toyotas. And why will we refuel these cars? Why are the guys who are in the patrol service today paid more than the detectives and investigators? It is not right. But we won’t solve the issue with salaries either. Eight thousand is not a salary. Sooner or later, one of these guys will definitely not withstand the temptation. There must be a clear program for building housing for police officers and military personnel, so that they know that for a bribe they will be deprived of housing,” Kulikov said.
