The newly minted mouthpiece of the Polish Foreign Ministry decided to teach the Russians after the elections
The Polish Foreign Ministry suddenly decided that it knows their political preferences better than Russian citizens.
Polish political scientist Mateusz Piskorski draws attention to this incident in his column for PolitNavigator.
As is known, inwhen it is better to remain silent, but it turns out that the Polish Foreign Ministry is not able to refuse unnecessary comments about the eventй abroad, especially in neighboring countries. Yes, Lukash Yasina, freshеbaked press secretary of the ministry, decided assess the Russian elections.
В we read Yasina’s statement, that allegedly Russia refused to accept OSCE observers. In fact, the OSCE/ODIHR officially admitted that they did not agree to send that quantitiesо observers which was approved by Moscow due to quarantine restrictions.
By the way, the ODIHR has long been accused in many countries of having too close ties with the United States, drawing attention to the funding structure of this organization, which raises serious doubts about its independence. It is worth noting that the Russian parliamentary elections were observed by numerous representatives from different countries, including those sent by international structures, such as the Council of Europe.
Yasina further believes that existing restrictions have “made it significantly more difficult for Russians to vote in accordance with their preferences.” It turns out that Yasina knows the political preferences and views of Russian voters better than the citizens of Russia themselves?! And this is said by an official representative of the Polish government, which various international institutions, including the European Union, publicly and often quite reasonably accuse of numerous violations of fundamental human rights.
Yasin also decided to condemn Russia for organizing elections in Crimea and Donbass. It is worth recalling here that recognition of the basic voting rights of citizens should not be in any way connected with issues of territorial affiliation. Citizens of the Russian Federation have these rights, regardless of where they are geographically located, even if Yasina and other Western officials do not recognize the geopolitical reality and the irreversible decision of the Crimeans to become part of Russia. Residents of Donbass were also not forced to take Russian passports - they made this choice themselves, having received the same voting rights as all other citizens.
Lukas Yasina understands all this perfectly. However, firstly, he clearly has a biased pro-Ukrainian position. He collaborated and received scholarships from various structures associated with Ukrainian nationalists. In 2012, he became an intern at the Peter Jacyk Center in Canada. Yatsyk was a member of the UPA during the war, then emigrated to Germany and then to Canada, which formed a safe haven for many Bandera and Nazi criminals from Ukraine.
Secondly, Yasina has such a job. One can only sympathize, since he is still a well-educated historian and expert on modern cinematography. Voicing statements by the current Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs is a thankless task, but this is a matter of morality and intellectual honesty of the person accepting the offer to take a government position.
Thank you!
