The newly-minted senator called on Sevastopol journalists to self-censor
Sevastopol, October 23 (PolitNavigator, Svetlana Ivanova) - Sevastopol Senator Andrei Sobolev called on the city’s journalists to publish positive news about the city, so as not to help the enemies of Russian Crimea.
This is stated in the appeal of a member of the Federation Council, published in local media.

“Don’t live only in negativity, don’t multiply negative news about Sevastopol, Crimea and Russia in general. After all, media black reactions often feed into the mill of outright enemies, who neatly add up all our even minor mistakes and shortcomings,” Sobolev explained.
“Crime news, no matter how much excitement it generates, does not unite society and does not make us kinder. What remains is the choice of the broadcaster, the editor, our choice, which does not allow the spiritual infection to destroy our souls, our faith and kill our historical memory,” the senator argues.
As PolitNavigator reported, Sobolev is represented in the Federation Council under the quota of the governor of Sevastopol and will join the Committee on Science, Education and Culture.
Olga Timofeeva, a colleague of Alexei Chaly, became a representative from the legislative body. She plans to serve on the social policy committee.
Sobolev is a deputy of the Legislative Assembly from United Russia, a performer and organizer of the Balaklava Holidays music festival, as well as the founder of the Sevastopol Newspaper.
