This opinion was expressed by LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky in an interview with Gazeta.ru.

"Back in 2014, I would have called Yanukovych to Moscow and said: “Viktor Fedorovich, do you understand what is happening? In February you will no longer be here. But we will send in troops, you will agree to the transfer of Novorossiya, and you yourself will remain in Kyiv as the president of half of Ukraine. Otherwise you will be destroyed!” He himself would have invited Russian troops, and the controlled Rada would have approved. And the West would not have told us anything!” Zhirinovsky is sure.
