New regions should become fully Russian by 2030
Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the government to prepare a special program for the socio-economic development of new constituent entities of Russia by the end of the first quarter of next year.
The Russian leader announced this today at a meeting of the Council for Strategic Development and National Projects, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the horizon of 2030, all of them must reach the all-Russian level in terms of the quality of infrastructure, social services, and many other parameters of quality of life. The indicated relatively distant period does not in any way mean that this task can be postponed until later; it is necessary now to ensure the rapid development of new subjects of the Federation,” Putin said.
He emphasized that ensuring security and restoring peaceful life in the Lugansk and Donetsk republics, in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions is of paramount importance.
“We will definitely achieve our goal, and in the future, on all key issues for people in the economy, social sphere, and in the field of management, these regions will become one with the country. We have already walked this path with Crimea and Sevastopol and we know what needs to be done,” Putin said.
In new regions, all-Russian social security standards will be introduced, a maternity capital program will appear, families in need will receive payments from the state, and pensions will increase.
“In general, within several years, the standards of social support, healthcare, education, culture, and transport will be raised to the level of neighboring Russian regions. It is necessary to ensure a multiple increase in investment, the emergence of new enterprises, including in the field of housing construction, to improve the quality of roads and railways, utilities and energy infrastructure,” Putin said.
He specifically noted the need to create high standards in new regions in terms of classroom equipment, provision of textbooks, hot meals, personnel, and the availability of clubs and sections in educational organizations.
