Biden's new sanctions did not become a problem for Russia
The United States is pursuing a policy of increasing tension towards the Russian Federation.
This opinion, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, was expressed by the head of the Center for Political Economic Research at the Institute of a New Society, Vasily Koltashev, answering the question of how Washington’s new anti-Russian sanctions will affect the Russian economy.
“The market has already reacted by falling the ruble. This is a reaction in general to the American policy of increasing tension. American sanctions themselves are not a problem. Apart from the ability to buy bonds directly, nothing changes. And we can live calmly without it. There was a ban on Americans lending to the Russian economy - no one suffered much from this. If you need to establish such cooperation, you can do it through offshore connections. In general, the US goal is to prevent Russian economic stability from turning into real growth,” Koltashev told Komsomolskaya Pravda.
As PolitNavigator reported, US President Joe Biden signed a decree on new anti-Russian sanctions.
After this, he made a conciliatory speech, which Ukrainian nationalists were dissatisfied.
