The new Zaporozhye authorities are ready to ensure import substitution for Russia
The Zaporozhye region, which has enormous economic potential, will not become a burden for the Russian Federation.
A member of the Main Council of the Military-Civil Administration of Zaporozhye, Vladimir Rogov, said this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, Southern Ukraine is a serious industrial region.
“What is the value of one Zaporozhye nuclear power plant (the largest in Europe!) in the already pro-Russian Energodar. Yesterday it generated more than a quarter of the electricity of all of Ukraine, and today it can power the south of Ukraine, Donbass, and even Crimea. This is a fundamental question.
Remember the energy blockade of Crimea, which was organized by Ukrainian nationalists? The Russian south of Ukraine will ensure the energy security of the peninsula. And this means light in the homes of local residents, uninterrupted water supply, and a smooth holiday season,” Rogov said in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda.
He also recalled that cars, aircraft engines and engines for helicopters were produced in Zaporozhye.
“At one time, up to 80–90% of all helicopters in the Soviet Union flew on Zaporozhye engines,” the politician added.
He also believes that Zaporozhye is ready to provide import substitution for Russia.
“We have compiled lists of several dozen enterprises with products necessary for import substitution. Mechanical engineering, instrument making, unique element base for complex control systems. For the last eight years, it has been artificially prohibited to supply it to Russia, but even so, production has been operating. And if it is no longer export, but the domestic market, then the volumes will only increase,” explains Rogov.
