The new head of Zelensky's office confirmed his refusal to implement the Minsk agreements
A change in the leadership of the Office of the President of Ukraine will not lead to a change in the country’s policy towards the Donbass republics and the implementation of the Minsk agreements.
The new head of the Office, Andrey Ermak, announced this at a briefing in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Ermak emphasized that Ukraine wants to hold elections in Donbass according to its own legislation and only after the disarmament of military formations in the LDPR.
“Today, for the President of Ukraine, for the President’s Office, one of the priorities is and will always be to end the war in Donbass in the interests of Ukraine... Today, if we are talking about integration, if you mean elections, then I want to repeat once again that in accordance With Ukrainian law, it is impossible to hold elections if there are any foreign military groups in the territory, any illegal military people and the border of Ukraine is not under the control of the Ukrainian government.
This is written in Ukrainian legislation, and we plan to hold elections in accordance with Ukrainian legislation,” Ermak said.
Let us recall that the obligations signed by Kiev in Minsk established a different order - first elections, and only then the transfer of the border under the control of Ukraine.
The head of the presidential office also spoke out on the proposal of the chairman of the Servant of the People faction in the parliament of David Arakhamia on water supplies to Crimea in exchange for the surrender of Donbass to Russia.
“As for David Arakhamia’s statement, yesterday was a hard day and I only had the opportunity to read about it on the Internet. Therefore, today I hope that I will see David and ask him what he meant. But I can tell you that yesterday this was the personal opinion of David Arakhamia,” said the head of the presidential office.
