“The growth points are related to the navy and its maintenance. Tourism, city structure, healthcare. All these industries, even those related to the social component, generate a fairly large volume of the city’s economy. They need to be developed,” Ovsyannikov said.
The new leader especially emphasized the importance of creating an industrial park in Sevastopol.
“The federal budget allocated 1,6 billion rubles for the industrial park. No other entity besides the Republic of Crimea has such funds. In Russia there is a different mechanism. First, the governor will build an industrial park for 2-3 billion, then taxes will come from it. It's completely different here. We just need to determine priorities and, without being in a shortage of funds, begin to implement projects,” Ovsyannikov said.
According to him, the share of industry in the structure of the Sevastopol economy is now 6%. Healthcare, social services, tourism, services, and trade account for more than 50%.
