New myth: Ukraine, it turns out, was “a subject to be reckoned with”
Corruption and nepotism have turned Ukraine from a subject of world politics, which it supposedly was at the dawn of independence, to the state of an object that no one takes into account.
Ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of several convocations, a former representative of the Soviet party nomenklatura, who headed the Odessa Regional Council, Sergei Grinevetsky, stated this on the air of the Odessa Internet resource “Media Inform”, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the political retiree, Ukraine is spoken of abroad as a corrupt state.
“Then, at the dawn of the formation of the state, international politics and diplomacy were much more professional and effective. We were considered as a subject, and this is very important.
Today we are seen as an object. And in some cases they are not considered at all when solving global issues of key world players. This is due, first of all, to the fact that for the last 10-15 years we have had an oligarchic-clan system of management of political institutions, primarily the Verkhovna Rada, which forms the government and distributes positions not according to professional level, but according to political expediency.
This is the first thing, and the second is that corruption has become a way of governing the state. Everyone is already saying this,” said Grinevetsky.
