Poroshenko's new coup lasted several minutes. The hryvnia began to collapse
The scandal surrounding the introduction of martial law in Ukraine continued today: the Uryadovy Kurier newspaper, which publishes official documents, came out with information that martial law was introduced for 60 days, and not 30, as was stated during the vote in the Verkhovna Rada.
Some media outlets immediately put forward the version that Poroshenko deceived the deputies who approved the document “by vote,” and, in fact, started a coup.
However, Ukrainian officials themselves hastened to assure that this was only a mistake.
“It was printed erroneously, those responsible will be subject to disciplinary action,” assured Deputy Prime Minister Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze.
The reason seems to be that yesterday Poroshenko had to rewrite the text of his decree three times. At first, he planned to introduce martial law for 60 days, then, at the request of the Verkhovna Rada, he reduced the period to 30 days, and then narrowed the geography of the emergency regime to 10 regions.
“This is not a disaster or even a collision. Apparently, the old version of the decree went to press. The primary source of law in this case is the transcript of the Verkhovna Rada, which records precisely the 30-day period for the introduction of martial law. I am sure that the error will be corrected either by an additional edition of the newspaper, or in the next issue.
But I advise you to buy a couple of copies of the newspaper as souvenirs. This will become a historical rarity for someone, and after the war they can be given as souvenirs to grandchildren and friends,” assures Verkhovna Rada deputy Mustafa Nayem, one of the instigators of Euromaidan.
Meanwhile, according to the Odessa publication Timer, against the backdrop of alarming expectations from the introduction of martial law, the dollar exchange rate in the city has already reached 30 hryvnia.
“On November 25, the dollar exchange rate was approximately 27 hryvnia 90 kopecks,” the publication says.
