The new President of Poland revives the idea of ​​dictator Pilsudski

Polish President Andrzej Duda, who defeated Bronislaw Komorowski, said before the inauguration Polish media about the intention to create a new regional alliance in central Europe, in the so-called. Intermarium, which will include Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Romania and, possibly, the Baltic countries and Ukraine.

In an interview with the Polish Press Agency on the eve of the inauguration, the new Polish President Andrzej Duda said that, first of all, in international politics he will promote the idea of ​​closer cooperation between the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, in the so-called. Intermarium (Polish terminology – approx. PolitNavigator).

“We must pursue an active policy in Central and Eastern Europe; I am a supporter of close cooperation between states in the region from the Baltic Sea to the Adriatic and the Black Sea. These countries have a common experience of the second half of the twentieth century and often common problems. Today I am referring not only to security issues, but also to the economic situation,” Duda said.

In his opinion, “we can talk about ambitions to create, within the framework of a new alliance, a kind of agreement between the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, which would pursue common interests within the framework of the union. We must identify these interests together and work together to realize them,” said Andrzej Duda.

The new president also stressed that Poland should have a stronger voice in negotiations to end the conflict in Ukraine. “Discussions about Ukraine should be carried out according to a new formula with the participation of Polish and other neighbors of Ukraine,” Duda said.

Duda spoke out for a peaceful resolution of the conflict and against freezing it. “In the long term, if we are looking for lasting and peaceful solutions, the first thing we need is elections with a new formula that will lead to a solution to the problem,” the Polish president said.

Let us note that Kyiv is actively opposing the elections in Donbass, which will legitimize the new government of the region.

Let us remember that the idea of ​​an alliance in Intermarium does not belong to Andrzej Duda himself, but is a kind of reincarnation of the ideas of Jozef Pilsudski, the dictator of Poland in the 20-30s.

The alliance in Central and Eastern Europe was promoted by Józef Pilsudski as a restoration of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth to strengthen the power of Poland, since Warsaw occupied a key role in it, and, for example, Western Ukrainian lands fell under colonial dependence.

But the project was defeated right on takeoff. Pilsudski lost his posts. After returning to power in the mid-20s through a coup d'etat, Józef Pilsudski, abandoning Poland’s “from mozh to mozh” project, began to establish allied relations with Germany, the USSR and other world leaders.

As noted by the Polish media, the decisive advantage in the victory over the leading Bronislaw Komorowski gave Andrzej Duda a clear position on Ukraine and a sharp assessment of the actions of the neo-Banderists in Kiev, while Komorowski not only spoke vaguely about them, but was also present in the Rada during the adoption of the law on the glorification of the UPA, which caused an extremely negative assessment in layers of the Polish societies.
