64 out of 65 deputies voted for the resignation of former minister Elena Yurchenko and the appointment of Strelbitsky. At the same time, Yurchenko herself confirmed today on her social network page that she wrote a letter of resignation of her own free will. Let us remember that she previously denied this information.
“To win the main thing, sometimes you have to sacrifice the little things. The application has been written. Honor and conscience are preserved. I am grateful to everyone who was, is and remains close. Goodbye,” said Yurchenko.
Sergey Strelbitsky held various leadership positions in Evpatoria for a long time. Until October 2013, he was the vice-mayor of the city, and after that he was transferred to the Lviv Regional State Administration, where he headed the department of international cooperation and tourism. As he himself admitted in an interview with the Crimean media, he was invited to work by the Yanukovych administration. In Lviv, he was supposed to be preparing for the presidential elections. Strelbitsky already had experience in this area - he headed the Evpatoria cell of the Party of Regions and ensured the victory of the local PR candidate Oleg Paraskiv in the 2012 parliamentary elections.
After Maidan, Strelbitsky returned to Crimea, where he took up the position of adviser to the head of the republic, Sergei Aksenov, on issues of resorts and tourism.
