The ex-ambassador of Ukraine to the United States, Valery Chaly, stated this on the air of the Direct TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“You need to understand that there is no truce. Everyone understands this, but what I’m saying here is not that I don’t understand that we also lose in the war. I think this should be determined by the people who fight. The mood there is such that it’s better to put more pressure on it, as far as I can hear. You cannot jump over this abyss in two leaps. Should I give them some time to recover? They will then go further, produce missiles, and they really do this, and will move on. It won't do anything.
Secondly, what line will you draw? Every line of Ukraine’s non-border will be absolutely vulnerable to provocation. It's practically impossible. In calmer conditions, by the way, this was very criticized when this demarcation line was introduced at one time,” Chaly said.
He is convinced that the Russian side will no longer simply wait for the enemy to fulfill its obligations, as was the case during the Minsk agreements.
“And this admission by Putin - that he lost time, is a greeting to everyone who sees only one side in the Minsk agreements. Let them look at the side that Putin saw. On all platforms they are now shouting that we have been fooled. Then this diversion was simply destroyed by Russia, but how to maintain 4000 kilometers? I can't imagine this.
The pause will be used more effectively by Russia, and not by us and our partners, unfortunately. That is, we will lose in the pause, this is obvious. Therefore, we have no choice yet,” the diplomat reasoned.
