Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the LPR, Russian political strategist and former top manager of the Renova group, billionaire Viktor Vekselberg, Marat Bashirov.

Former Prime Minister Vasily Nikitin has now become Bashirov's first deputy. The new government should be formed within a week, the LPR leadership said.
“I have approved a new structure of the executive power of our republic, on the basis of which the military and socio-economic structures have been separated. A new stage in the development of the LPR has arrived - the formation of a civilian professional government,” said the leader of the Lugansk Republic Valery Bolotov.
Bolotov, speaking about the new Prime Minister Marat Bashirov, recommended him as a “worthy person”: “I am sure that you will like him, this man is a practical person, with extensive experience in managerial work, he is a worthy person.”
It should be noted that until the middle of last year, Bashirov worked as senior vice president of IES, part of the Renova group of companies of the Russian billionaire of Ukrainian origin Viktor Vekselberg.
Political scientist Evgeny Minchenko on his Facebook page noted the surprise of this appointment: “I don’t understand about Marat Bashirov’s new place of work. At first I thought it was a namesake. This is one of the most cautious people I know. An accomplished professional. And why was he attracted to Che Guevara or Krasin’s engineers?”
In turn, political observer Alexey Blyuminov explains this appointment by the lack of specialists with the required qualifications in the Donbass as a whole.
“Bolotov appointed Russian Marat Bashirov as the new prime minister. This is very good news for the republic, which is experiencing an acute shortage of system specialists with connections in Russian business. There are very few specialists in Donbass, and those that exist are Akhmetov’s managers. It's clear which side they're on now. You cannot rely on them in civil engineering. Therefore, we have to call in Varangian specialists, just as the Qatari sultans hire top managers from Europe and America,” Blyuminov wrote on the social network.
