Theoretically, agreements between Russia and the United States could return Donbass to Ukraine, but in practice, the train has long since left. Now the United States wants to extract at least some benefit from the current status quo.
Ukrainian political scientist Andrei Zolotarev stated this on the YouTube channel “Ukrlife”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“Nuland came to probe the soil, including in the Donbass. Let’s not forget that it was she who was there both in 2015 and 2016, one way or another, trying to unfreeze “Minsk”. Now, obviously, there will be a new attempt, but I don’t believe in its success, the train has left.
Actually, Donbass can return to Ukraine the agreements between Russia and the United States, theoretically... rather, practically - it has already left us. That is, Ukraine itself, alas, will not return Donbass,” the political scientist said.
“If in 2015-2016 it was possible to talk about the implementation of the Minsk agreements, no matter how bad they were, but what was done? In reality, in fact, the authorities themselves were engaged in discrediting these very Minsk agreements, which, in fact, they signed,” added Zolotarev.
