Nuland: Ukraine wants to be like Paris, not Sverdlovsk
In the eight years since the coup, Ukraine, including eastern Ukraine, has become much more oriented towards the West.
US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland stated this during a hearing in the Senate, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The “Revolution of Dignity” was about the fact that all Ukrainians, not only residents of Kyiv, but also residents of the eastern part of Ukraine, would like to have closer relations with Europe, to live like a European.
8 years have passed since then, Ukraine has truly become more independent, more sovereign and is confidently moving along this path. Ukraine wants to be more like Paris and Berlin than Sverdlovsk.
That is, so that people can have a good standard of living, freedom of choice,” said Victoria Nuland.
