Nuland: Ukraine is a very strong country, it will not give up
US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland threatened Moscow that the ruling elite in Kyiv, completely controlled by the American Embassy, “will not surrender.”
Nuland said this at a hearing in the Senate, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We sent a very clear message to Putin that Ukraine is a very strong country. She will not give up, she will continue to fight, she is already resisting Russia’s attempts to interfere in her democratic processes,” the official said.
At the same time, she threatened: the United States has prepared such sanctions to protect Ukraine that “Russia will suffer heavy losses.”
“It’s even difficult to imagine why, at a time when Russia is experiencing the highest mortality rate from Covid, and the Russian people are suffering, why Putin wants to spend hundreds of millions of rubles on a war with Ukraine right now instead of restoring the Russian economy,” picturesquely Nuland lamented.
