US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland said this when answering a question about providing defensive weapons to Ukraine during the YES forum in Kyiv.
In response to a leading question about the provision of weapons to Ukraine, the US Assistant Secretary of State recalled the conduct of military training with the support of the United States.
“We provide military aid: $ 244 million has been spent on training and equipping the Ukrainian army,” Nuland replied.
At the same time, she added that the United States will listen to the needs of Ukraine.
“We will continue to be vigilant to the needs of Ukraine, and now this is the need for diplomatic negotiations and compliance with the Minsk deals on the part of Russia and pro-Russian separatists in Ukraine,” she emphasized.
Let us recall that the head of government, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, noted that there is a need for this and Ukraine continues to ask for weapons.
