“We need a transition to the Latin alphabet, and English as the second state alphabet” - Secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine
The Ukrainian language must be translated into Latin, and English must be included in the compulsory curriculum, starting in kindergarten.
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Alexey Danilov stated this on the air of the US State Department-funded Radio Liberty resource, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Where are we heading between Europe and Russia? When will we introduce the Latin alphabet? – the presenter voiced the question of one of the spectators.
"I am for! I think this will be one of the most fundamental things, that we need to get rid of the Cyrillic alphabet and switch to the Latin alphabet.
As for language, I am for two languages. English should be compulsory, because if we are talking about the civilized world, then English is the language of civilized communication. And we must understand that those who are elderly, who find it difficult, are one thing, but starting from kindergarten, in schools, this should be the case,” Danilov said.
