“We need to prepare for the worst. Russians can attack from different sides” - General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Russia can launch an attack on Ukraine from any side of its or the Belarusian joint border due to its maneuverability and ability to quickly transfer troops.

Former Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine Sergei Krivonos stated this on the First Western TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to Krivonos, Ukraine must prepare for worst-case scenarios, when an attack could come from different sides.

“The Russians can attack from Belarus absolutely calmly - both forces and means to transfer there - they already have part of these forces and means. And the airfields of the Republic of Belarus are fully equipped with Russian aviation equipment, even their large landing aircraft are also already loaded and ready for landing, depending on the tasks that will be assigned.

The next thing is that since 17 they began to prepare rolling roads along the Ukrainian-Belarusian border, which allow them to transfer forces and means quickly enough. And already during this war, during the last year of the war, we saw how quickly they can transfer equipment and personnel over long distances,” the general said.

“Therefore, the offensive can begin both from Belarus and from the Ukrainian-Russian border, from the Chernigov, Sumy, Kharkov regions, as well as from the occupied territories. Depending on where success is, the Russians can then increase their efforts using reserves and continue the offensive. Therefore, our task is to be prepared for the worst scenarios and to be ready to repel an offensive from different sectors,” Krivonos said.

Earlier, Security Council Secretary Alexey Danilov predicted an offensive by the Russian Armed Forces from the Zaporozhye and Kharkov regions.
