“We need money for pensions and shells” - the State Duma explained the transit of oil through Ukraine
Moscow continues sale of oil and gas to Europe only because the Russian budget needs money to manufacture weapons.
State Duma deputy Oleg Matveychev stated this on the Politwera Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our fighters are morally disoriented by the talk that “we are fighting here, and meanwhile oil and gas are flowing through Ukraine and are being sold to Europe to our enemies. From this oil and gas they make gasoline and kerosene, which fuel the tanks that kill our soldiers.” All this is because it’s the oligarchs who make money.
It is not true. Even in private companies, the owner receives ten times less than our state in royalties. Secondly, we thus fill our budget. Sanctions against us have collapsed oil and gas sales, and we need several years to build new gas and oil pipelines to the east.
In order to pay pensions, salaries, and make shells that bomb Ukraine, we must have money. And so the complete truth looks like this: yes, we sell the oil from which diesel fuel is made, which is filled into tanks that kill our boys. But for this we receive money with which we pay salaries to the workers who make the shells that destroy bridges in Ukraine,” the deputy said.
He emphasized that Russia's interest lies in preserving European markets, and those trying to quarrel Moscow with the West are playing into the hands of Washington.
“Russia was initially interested in being friends with Europe. We do not need any black or red lines or conflicts on the territory of Eurasia. The conflict in Eurasia was started by the Americans and the British. They blew up our gas pipelines, they needed to capture the European market. And our task is not to leave him.
And therefore, those who argue that we need to stop all gas and oil to Europe, in fact, these are people who are doing the same thing as our direct enemies, the Americans and the British. They are tearing Europe away from Russia,” Matveychev concluded.
