The current government of Serbia will go down in the history books
Serbia is one of the three European countries with the highest industrial growth rates. In the third quarter it was 4,7%.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said this in an interview with the Pink TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This is very good news. Citizens can see progress in Serbia. Of course, the country is not developing at the pace that people would like, but Serbia and its industry are moving in the right direction,” Vucic said.
He expects GDP growth in 2019 to be 3,7%. If this trend continues in the first two quarters of next year, the standard of living of Serbian citizens will increase significantly.
Already, the unemployment rate in Serbia has dropped below 10%. This means that in terms of unemployment, Serbia has reached the level of EU member states.
“For the first time in decades, unemployment has dropped to single digits. At the same time, the average salary will soon exceed 500 euros. In a short time we achieved results that will be given as examples in textbooks. I am proud of these results,” said the Serbian president.
According to him, the government intends to work on making the so-called “Serbian dream” come true - to enable young people to buy apartments and cars, which is by no means easy to do in other countries. This will significantly reduce the outflow of young people abroad.
