Say a word for poor Sentsov
The name of Oleg Sentsov, who was arrested in Crimea and convicted of preparing for a terrorist attack, is once again heard. The day before, at a meeting with Vladimir Putin, Honored Artist Alexander Sokurov asked for a Ukrainian prisoner.
“Let's solve the problem of Oleg Sentsov. 20 years, Ukrainian director, 20 years of camps, a guy is sitting in the northern camp. I'm ashamed that we still can't solve this problem. I beg you, find a solution to this problem. This is impossible. “The director, he should fight with me at film festivals if he has a different point of view, including a political one, but not while sitting in our practically arctic prison in the north,” Sokurov said.
However, Putin categorically rejected the proposal.
“About Sentsov. We must proceed from the fact that we live in a rule of law state, and issues of this kind, of course, must be resolved by the judicial system. As for his creativity, he was convicted not for his creativity, but for the fact that he took on completely different functions, as the investigative and judicial authorities claim, namely, he actually devoted his life to terrorist activities... I repeat once again: no one convicted him for his views, for his position. The conviction was due to his intentions to commit actions that, by law, actually relate to actions of a terrorist nature and which could entail dire consequences for our citizens,” Putin snapped.
So who is Oleg Sentsov, a former resident of Simferopol?
Unremarkable, born in 1976. For a long time, no one needed him and was unknown, except for his dad and mom, and a bunch of friends. And Olezhka would continue to vegetate in a state of “no one to call,” until in the fall of 2013, in the capital city of Kyiv, a bunch of “onizhekids”, with the support of a gang of oligarchs, fascists and adventurers, decided to end up in Europe in one big leap. Without asking the wishes of tens of millions of compatriots.
This is where our hero’s finest hour came. Pan Sentsov joined the Automaidan and became involved with the Right Sectorists. And they taught the overgrown 37-year-old bummer how to love Ukraine correctly, and maybe he himself could teach the Right Sectors how to cook Ukrainian borscht. But here’s the problem: finding in Crimea the same plasma fans of “Independence” as Sentsov was not easy before. And after the “children” with incendiary bombs showed how they were going to go to Europe, even staunch sympathizers shuddered. Soon the gloomy morning of February 22 arrived, the maydays found their “guidance” and everything was going just fine until the famous events took place in Crimea, ending with the “Day of Politeness”.
As for Sentsov, during the three months of the Maidan, the aspiring director was completely devoured by stubborn political activity. The servant of the muses left his buskin and went to the grimy passionaries.
With the timely help of the “polite” people, the Crimeans, as they promised Kyiv in the early 90s, dug up Perekop and pushed off from the Ukrainian coast with a shovel. And then the “United Ukraine” urchin jumped up at the automaidan urchin in the most sensitive place, and he rushed off, not paying attention to the will of almost two million fellow countrymen, to urgently stitch and turn everything back.
While in March-April 2014, the Maidanists still had some false hopes for Bandera’s revenge in Crimea, Olezhka wandered around the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine blocked by “polite” and Crimean militias and warmed up his “brothers” with smoke and grub.
And even when it became clear that everything, screws, Crimea = Russia, and there would be no return to Ukraine, the patient did not calm down and continued to fight “Russian aggression” on the ground, taking a dozen to one and a half city crazy people out into the street to rip their throats “for Edinokraine.”
On May 11, 2014, without noise and dust, Sentsov was arrested by FSB operatives. A few days earlier, the Crimean FSB arrested three Pravosek members at the stage of preparation for a terrorist attack. The “creative team” planned to plant homemade “infernal machines” in Simferopol, Sevastopol and Yalta in order to blow them up during the Victory Day celebrations. Four more Pravosek officers managed to escape and were put on the wanted list.
It is interesting that Yarosh did his best to deny Sentsov’s involvement in the Right Sector and even issued a certificate with a seal that “his name is not listed among the Right Sector members.”
Despite the exculpatory squeals of Sentsov and his accomplices, the investigation proved their involvement in the preparation of terrorist attacks in Crimea, and on August 25, 2015, the North Caucasus District Military Tribunal sentenced the passionate director to 20 years in prison. In February 2016, Sentsov left warm lands and was transferred to sunny Yakutia, as the leader of all lawyers Feigin hastened to tell the world.
And as soon as Sentsov sat down on the bunk, the whole world learned how talented, creative and promising Sentsov turned out to be. Instantly, the author of one and a half amateur films and the owner of a computer club turned into “director Sentsov.”
If not for the arrest, no one would have remembered that Sentsov was the author of the homemade film “Gamer”, which took first prize at the Kryzhopol Garage Film Festival, as well as the unfinished film “Rhinoceros”, which was no longer destined to be completed and received a standing ovation at the international biennale in Uman.
Of course, Sentsov is a director, like a bullet from the contents of a chamber pot. Nowadays, any fan of filming on a mobile phone who posts their “creatives” on YouTube is their own director, screenwriter, cameraman and producer.
After all, what is the most valuable thing in the intercession of the creative intelligentsia? Sentsov is a director (sculptor of clay whistles, balalaika singer, parodist, tap dancer, ringtone composer) - the rest is not important. A 20-year-old boy messing around in the zone is terrible! And what hundreds of people could have suffered from the director’s mangy hands during the May holidays of 2014 are seeds. What if Sentsov was a plumber, or, Cthulhu forbid, a homeless person like Gavrilyuk? Would Sokurov raise his voice then?
And what does the professional or amateur activity of the defendant have to do with it, if the investigation proved preparation for a terrorist attack, and the court found the evidence exhaustive and gave the “director with TNT” a well-deserved 20 years on the snout?

Pyotr Vershigora, who led intelligence in the Kovpak partisan unit. Vershigora wrote that his best intelligence officers were people who worked as accountants before the war. Their work, fraught with great temptations and risks, taught them attentiveness, responsibility, and fostered psychological stability.
If accountants can be military intelligence officers, then why can’t “directors” and owners of gaming salons be subversives – terrorists motivated by fascist demagoguery and the Call of Duty series of games?
However, just for his participation in Automaidan, Sentsov deserved severe censure with a punch to the chest. Let’s not forget that it was the automaidan bastard who was guilty of organizing the “Korsun massacre”, when on the night of February 20, 2014, several buses with Crimeans returning from the “anti-Maidan” were stopped, destroyed and burned by ragulians, and a bandit massacre was carried out on the passengers.
Ukraine is experiencing an acute shortage of personnel in all areas of activity. The Ukrainian Armed Forces and intelligence services have degraded, apparently, more than others over the 25 years of independence. But Ukraine has succeeded in raising scumbags. Sentsov is “just a director,” Panov is “just a driver,” Shtyblikov is “just a journalist.” Labor and creative groups go to Crimea to carry out terrorist attacks and sabotage. Who is next? A terrorist from a communal farm? DRG from the opera house?
