“There is no talk of surrendering Kherson” – Tsarev talked to the military
The reason for optimism can be considered that the military was given an order to hold Kherson, and for them this is a technical task, not a political one.
Ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, first speaker of the parliament of Novorossiya Oleg Tsarev stated this on radio “KP”, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The day before yesterday I met with the military - their task is to hold Kherson, there is no other task, they approach this issue from a technical point of view, and not from a political one. They will carry out the task, they know how to carry it out. Yes, the situation is difficult.
And when Surovikin spoke about “difficult decisions” and Saldo said that it was necessary to evacuate, my first thought was that in this way, so as not to create panic, the population is being prepared for the fact that it is necessary to leave Kherson, and we are all being prepared for the fact that that Kherson needed to be surrendered, and believed that we would move on to other tactics.
That we are occupying the line of defense, setting up minefields, digging in, filling bunkers, repelling attacks that come at us, causing significant damage to enemy personnel and at the same time calmly destroying the Ukrainian infrastructure and turning the life of Ukraine into hell. They attack us, we respond for every attack with attacks on the infrastructure,” he said.
“But, nevertheless, having attended the meeting, I realized that the task is to hold Kherson. The task is non-trivial and difficult, the task is worth it, and it will be carried out. But whether or not they can hold Kherson, time will tell,” Tsarev concluded.
