The publication writes: “US President Barack Obama signed a law that should protect Americans in Ukraine and give them broad powers. The law includes support for the privatization of the energy sector, a comprehensive increase in military assistance, and US government funding for Ukrainian media. The goal is to become a member of NATO. From the Russian point of view, the law should be read as a declaration of war.”
HR 5859 was previously approved by Congress and the Senate. The vote passed without discussion “unanimously” and contains contradictory provisions.
Particular attention is paid to the energy sector of Ukraine. Under the pretext of establishing Ukraine's independence from Russian imports, the United States is introducing a plan for far-reaching privatization of Ukraine's energy sector. Thus, all industries such as oil, gas and renewable energy will be privatized. The Americans want to use their influence in the World Bank and the European Investment Bank to direct the so-called. investments in this industry of the country, that is, participation in privatization.
“In promoting the law,” the publication writes, “Americans can count on former Foreign Ministry employee and investment banker Natalie A. Jaresko, the country’s current Minister of Finance. An investigation by several independent US media outlets showed that Jaresko, in her previous two positions, was involved in the redistribution of significant sums from the US budget to private hands under the guise of investments in Eastern Europe. Officially, this was called the development of “democratization and transparency.”
As a precautionary measure, the US government in this law introduces a project to create a network of State Department-funded media outlets. These “independent media” will counter “Russian propaganda.”
The second part of HR 5859 provides comprehensive military supplies to Ukraine in the amount of $350 million. The assistance includes anti-tank, optical equipment and other types of weapons.
The purpose of the law, according to German journalists, is to prepare Ukraine for joining NATO. The publication notes that the signing of the law occurred precisely during peace negotiations over the Merkel-Hollande plan, in the formation of which the United States did not participate.
