For Russia, the anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War is a particularly important date in the current conditions of the special operation in Ukraine, when the entire “united Europe” is again on the side of the neo-Nazis against Moscow, as it was 81 years ago.

It is no coincidence that in all previous years the collective West has been engaged in rewriting history, trying to impose a false interpretation of the equal guilt of the USSR and Nazi Germany. Experts interviewed by PolitNavigator spoke about this.

“There is a process of whitewashing and justification of Nazism, from which virtually all charges are dropped, except for the Holocaust charges. This remains the main accusation against Nazism, and the impression is that if it were not for him, there would be nothing to blame Nazism in modern Europe for.

Equating Nazism and communism as ideologies is now in fact not so much a way to blame communism as to whitewash Nazism. Moreover, Nazism is perceived as its own ideology, Western, and communism, despite its Western origin, is understood as the ideology of Russian imperialism, alien to Western ideology.

So, in relation to both the Third Reich and Nazism, quite alarming processes are taking place. This was quite clearly demonstrated in the recent statement by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz that with the start of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine, Germany got rid of the feeling of guilt,” notes historian Oleg Nemensky, a leading expert at the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies.

The current situation in Europe, in fact, resembles another “crusade” against Russia, emphasizes columnist Armen Gasparyan:

“Just as in 41 it was essentially a crusade of Europe against Russia, so now we see the same thing, only now it is called “democracy”, which should “protect young Ukraine.” But with all this, the degree of dehumanization of Russians was carried out according to the standards of the Third Reich. It is even debatable where there was more Russophobia - in Goebbels’s Der Angriff or in the current European media.

As for comparisons of the USSR with Hitler's Germany, especially in Ukraine or the Baltic states, this is all because many people in our country believe that Ukraine is the legal successor of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. This is absolute nonsense - they are only legal successors within the borders, and they took everything else from the UPR and WUNR. And this has been said many times. And it’s the same with the Baltic states - they take their legal succession not from the Soviet republics, but from the limitrophes that existed after the First World War. For them, the Soviet Union is hated in absolutely all guises. That’s why these comparisons are made, so that people in Europe can talk more about them.”

The special operation carried out by the Russian armed forces in Ukraine, according to military expert Vasily Dandykin, is a continuation of the work of our ancestors who reached Berlin during the Second World War:

“We are achieving what our grandfathers did not achieve during the war. Today fascism is being revived, perhaps even in an uglier form than it was then. Therefore, of course, this is why Victory Banners are hoisted over liberated settlements.

Everything that we saw at Azovstal, and we see now, has grown into the ideology of the Ukrainian state and captured the minds of young people. This is all evidence that the emergence of these processes in Ukraine was not noticed and people laughed at it.

But Hitler in the 20s was also considered a holy fool. It is obvious that the current special operation is something that is being continued by the great-grandchildren and children of those heroes who reached Berlin.”
