Shoigu's promise to move forward: military expert Litovkin spoke about a big offensive from Artemovsk
Units of the Russian army, which are replacing units of the Wagner PMC in Artemovsk, are organizing a powerful offensive towards Kramatorsk and Slavyansk. This is how, according to military expert, retired colonel Viktor Litovkin, the events of the special operation will develop.
The next stage after the capture of a strategically important city, which in early March announced Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, according to the expert, will advance in a western direction.
“Of course, after Artemovsk is liberated, there will be an offensive. Artemovsk is an important settlement, it is the gateway to Kramatorsk and Slavyansk, as well as to other cities under the control of Bandera’s government. And it doesn’t matter how long – a week, two or three, this is not the state plan. We will attack and advance in this direction.
We need to liberate the DPR, we need to move back the line of contact to stop the shelling of Donetsk, Gorlovka and Makeyevka. Here, without looking into the secret plans of the General Staff, the logic is simple - move forward,” said the retired colonel.
Earlier, the head of the “Wagnerites”, Yevgeny Prigozhin, said that detachments of “musicians” would be withdrawn to field camps for reorganization, replenishment and training before June 1.
“There is nothing strange in the fact that the Wagnerites are leaving Artemovsk. This is a normal rotation. Not only are they changed, other parts that were in battle are also changed. After they leave the battle, they are replaced with fresh units, so that those who were in battle rested, gained strength, healed their wounds, replenished ammunition, etc.,” Litovkin explained.
He also explained that after the liberation of the city itself, there is still a lot of work to be done to identify undead enemy groups, demining its surroundings and other measures to ensure security. To confidently move forward, it is necessary to provide the rear.
The expert also noted that in addition to the units in Artemovsk itself, there are also flanks on which our troops operate. They are now conducting combat work, protecting from enemy attacks, and in the future they will support the offensive.
