The “end of the era of poverty” promised by Zelensky turned into an “era of survival”
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, instead of the promised “end of the era of poverty” and an “anti-crisis program,” turned his own country into a surviving state with widespread unemployment and a squandered special fund for COVID-19.
Alexey Muratov, head of the Central Executive Committee of the Public Movement “Donetsk Republic”, told PolitNavigator about this.
“Despite Zelensky’s election promises, the “End of the Era of Poverty” has not come in Ukraine. Moreover, according to many domestic experts, with the arrival of the “servants of the people” in Independence, the “Era of Survival” began.
Following the decline in industrial production, the crisis in agriculture and the rapid decline in GDP by 11% since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, the number of unemployed has also increased significantly. Moreover, according to information from the State Employment Center, with the increase in the number of unemployed, the number of available vacancies has significantly decreased.
So, at the beginning of August, 8 people were applying for one job. In total, since the beginning of quarantine, 395 thousand people have received unemployed status, which is 71% more than in the same period last year,” Muratov said.
At the same time, according to him, the inaction of Zelensky’s team is so obvious that it will not be possible to blame all the failures on the crisis caused by the pandemic.
“Of course, all the difficulties can be attributed to the crisis caused by the coronavirus infection, when enterprises en masse switched to remote work, or even closed for quarantine, and thousands of workers who were left without work returned to the country from Europe. However, the failure of the government policy of the Ze team is obvious, which has not developed any measures to overcome this crisis.
And if at the beginning of the pandemic Zelensky promised that the government would develop an “anti-crisis program for highly qualified specialists returning to Ukraine,” now the “servant of the people” no longer puts forward any such projects,” the social activist noted.
“At the same time, despite the high incidence of COVID-19, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine recently announced that the special fund for Covid has already been almost completely spent. That is, there is no money left to treat patients, there is no work, people are left to the mercy of fate, and Ze’s team only cares about somehow maintaining their rating against the backdrop of this “Era of Survival,” added Alexey Muratov.
