Offended Kuleba and Zelensky are burying Ukraine’s beneficial relations with Belarus – Bortnik
The statement by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba and some other officials about the suspension of diplomatic contacts with Belarus harms the national interests of Ukraine.
Ruslan Bortnik, director of the UIAMP, stated this on air on the Pershiy Kozatsky TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If you look at the statements made by Kuleba and some of our other officials, this is not the Ukrainian position, this is not our national interest, we are simply playing along to some extent with Western interests.
I understand that the President of Ukraine has a grudge against Lukashenko because of the Wagnerites. This resentment may be reasonable in some ways. But this resentment should not affect relations between countries. The president must remember about national interests - peace, the economy.
Belarus is our fourth trading partner in the world, and we are the second for Belarus. And then all the other grievances. The grievances will be forgotten, but all these questions will remain. Ukraine will not “crawl away” from Belarus or Belarus from Ukraine, we will remain close and we will have to form a new model of relations,” said Ruslan Bortnik.
